Support Mr. Phifer: 50 Years of Joy

An RVA Christmas tradition has some needs of his own. The Phifer house has been a Richmond tradition for 50 years! Recently, his family requested bath mats to help cover up his driveway that is in disrepair. My son and I dropped off bathmats one day, and had the fortunate experience of meeting Mr. Phifer! He and I got to talking, and he expressed some issues that he has with his shoulders. Despite his pain, he is able to decorate his yard each and every year for RVA. Thousands and thousands of people enjoy his yard every year and I’m sure a lot of you have too! He also said that he has some issues going on with a big repair bill for his personal pick up truck deemed “his baby”. Mr. Phifer’s expenses to set out his festive yard were more important to cover than truck repairs at this time.

Mr Phifer stockpiles cocoa and gives it out each and every night. The donations he receives for a cozy cup goes toward not only cocoa supplies, but towards commercial grade supplies as well. There is always a need for zip ties and electrical tape.

I left that day after our nice visit and knew the community needs to help. For as much as he gives us every year, RVA can return the favor. Please help this wonderful man get some much needed support for his home and vehicle. He is humble and decorates his yard for the joy it gives so many. Families come every year to see this house and what a beautiful one it is! 50 Years of Phifer!
