Mr. Misty showed up on my doorstep a few days ago, desperate for food. I gave him a good meal and then he came back, and back again, and now he is here.

I have a potential adopter for him, who can get him in about a month, and I am lining up fosters until then. I am going to take care of all the vetting. We had an appointment this morning for a general check-up at the walk-in vet. He is getting a parasite test, he had his FELV, FIV, and heartworm test (all negative). He got his FVRCP, rabies, and leukemia vaccines, and he got a dose of Advantage flea medicine. So far, we think he's neutered, but I'm going to get a second opinion with my regular vet as soon as I can get an appointment with her.

This GoFundMe is to raise funds to cover the nearly $320 that I spent this morning plus food and litter, plus a second vet appointment. He does have one issue that could turn out to be serious, but I'm not sure yet. He has a broken canine tooth on the upper left side. The vet I saw today said that he can't pull it because it's too hard to get that tooth out. He said to just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get infected. I will take him to my regular vet to see what her opinion and advice is.

He is still very underweight; it may take several weeks for him to get back to normal. Overall, he seems in good spirits and just very grateful to be indoors where he can spend a lot of time taking a nice bath and sleeping.
