Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
My name is Mr. Max Bennett, but my friends and family call me Chu (or any variation of that, like Chuplton, Chalupa, or ChuChu Pea). I am a 9-year-old Chihuahua/Yorkie mix, weighing about 4 lbs, and I am a rescue. My journey began with a sweet girl who adopted me, but I was returned because she didn't have permission to adopt me. Then, I was adopted by older folks who kept me in their garage. Unfortunately, I ate something that made me very sick, and I was dumped at the shelter all while I was only 7 months old.
In November 2015, my loving family adopted me, and I have been so happy and well-cared for over the past 8.5 years.
Recently, I fell ill again. After visiting three different doctors, the wonderful team at OakVet Animal Specialty Hospital diagnosed me with a heart murmur and a tummy issue that prevents me from absorbing protein. My family has covered my medical bills, which have added up to nearly $10,000 and counting.
If you could share my story, any donation would help me get the care I need to live a long, healthy life.
Thank you,
Mr. Max Bennett
