Support Mr. Magoo's Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and a hopeful plea. I am trying to raise at least $8,000 to help cover the cost of emergency surgery for my sweet foster dog, Mr. Magoo (also known as Goober).
Goober’s journey has been anything but easy. He spent the early part of his life in Texas, enduring unimaginable acts of cruelty. Despite everything he’s been through, Goober is a gentle, loving soul who simply wants to be loved. After his rescue, he was brought to Massachusetts, where he’s been in my care as a foster dog. Sadly, despite being such a wonderful companion, Goober has struggled to find his forever home.
One of the challenges Goober faces is a condition called pica, which causes him to eat things that aren’t food. No matter how hard we try to prevent it, he has ingested items that he simply can’t pass. Just recently, he developed an intestinal blockage that requires emergency surgery. This surgery is his only chance at survival, but the cost is astronomical—around $8,000 to $10,000 even with a rescue discount.
As his foster parent, I could never bear the thought of losing him, especially after everything he’s been through. The decision to move forward with surgery was incredibly difficult—taking on significant debt just to give him a chance. But Goober deserves a chance at a full, happy life. He deserves a family who will love him as much as I do.
That’s where you come in.
I’m asking for your help to cover his vet bill. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference in getting him the care he desperately needs. All funds will go directly toward paying for Goober’s surgery and recovery. If there’s any money left over, it will be donated to Goober’s rescue organization, Never Give Up Animal Rescue, to help more animals in need.
Please consider donating today—even a small contribution helps. And if you can’t donate, sharing this post with your network could make all the difference.
Together, we can give Goober a second chance at life.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jo
