Support Mr. Jumper's Journey to Accessibility

Donation protected
Hello, we are Joe Arcona and Brynn Kruse, and we have the privilege of working alongside an incredible educator at John B. Dey Elementary School. Mr. Jumper is a passionate fifth-grade teacher who has dedicated his life to inspiring and nurturing young minds. However, as a quadriplegic, Mr. Jumper faces significant challenges, particularly with transportation. After 18 years of driving the same vehicle since his injury, Mr. Jumper needs our support to gain independence and accessibility with a new wheelchair accessible van.

In 2006, Mr. Jumper experienced a life-changing event that resulted in quadriplegia. Despite this challenge, he pursued his dream of becoming a teacher and has been a cornerstone of our school community ever since. Mr. Jumper’s resilience and dedication have inspired not only his students but also everyone who works with him.

Transportation is essential for Mr. Jumper to maintain independence and continue his remarkable work as an educator. His current vehicle, which has served well for nearly two decades, needs replaced before it is too late. Unfortunately, the cost of modifying a new van to accommodate a wheelchair can exceed $50,000. When Mr. Jumper reached out to the company that previously funded his vehicle modifications, he was told that because he is employed, he does not qualify for financial assistance. Ironically, if he was not working, the modifications would be covered.

As fellow teachers, we understand the financial limitations of our profession, and the cost of a new wheelchair accessible van is beyond Mr. Jumper's reach. This is why we are turning to you, our community, for support. The independence and freedom that a new van would provide are invaluable, allowing Mr. Jumper to continue his vital role in education and live a fulfilling life. We also know as fellow educators the incredible impact he has had on not only our school, but our entire community. We hope this can serve as not only an incredible opportunity to help Mr. Jumper, but also a way to thank him for the way he has impacted so many lives.

Your generous contributions will directly help purchase and modify a new wheelchair accessible van for Mr. Jumper. This will enable him to commute to work, participate in community events, attend medical appointments, and enjoy everyday activities that many take for granted.

We are incredibly grateful for any support you can provide, whether it's a donation or simply sharing this campaign with others. Your kindness and generosity will have a profound impact on Mr. Jumper’s life and allow him to continue inspiring and educating the next generation. Thank you for taking the time to read this story and for considering contributing to Mr. Jumper’s journey towards greater independence.
