Our beloved paraprofessional and friend, Larry Jones, known to our students as Mr. Jones, has recently been diagnosed with an incurable kind of cancer. For those who have had the honor of knowing him, you know that Mr. Jones has always gone above and beyond for the students and staff at Leawood Elementary.
Whether it is welcoming arriving students in car line, working with students one on one, or simply being a smile and a high five in the halls, Mr. Jones has touched countless lives at Leawood Elementary since 2018 with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering spirit. For more about Mr. Jones and how much he means to our school, please watch this video from Paraprofessionals Week in 2024:
Now it’s our turn to be there for him and his wife as he begins treatment. We are asking our wonderful community—current and former students and their families, BVSD educators, and friends—to rally around Mr. Jones and show just how loved he truly is.
Every donation, no matter the size, is appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping him and his wife in your thoughts and prayers. Donated funds will be used to offset medical expenses and to assist them with their relocation to a new house.
Let’s support the person who has supported so many of our students.
With gratitude,
