In loving memory of my dad, Mark Parrott, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to support the Mount Vernon High School Orchestra Boosters.

Mount Vernon High School Orchestra Boosters is close to my heart as a strings teacher in the Mount Vernon Pyramid. Our students, many of whom face challenges and barriers to access in terms of music education, are amazing young people who deserve the best of everything!

My dad recently passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with aggressive prostate cancer.

Dad was passionate about music. He listened to music constantly, had a large vinyl collection, and had a beautiful singing voice. He was one of my biggest supporters in my music education as a child and loved to hear me play my violin in recitals and orchestral performances over the years.

Through this campaign, money will be raised to purchase a set of fine string instruments for Mount Vernon High School students to use for decades to come.

These instruments will serve as an enduring legacy for my father and well-timed investment in the music education of our very deserving students and the quickly growing Mount Vernon High School Orchestra program.
