Go Fund Mo's Top Surgery

A very happy new year is just around the corner: Mo will be getting top surgery on February 20, 2025! This gender affirming care has been a long time coming. It will help Mo feel more like themself AND greatly alleviate the chronic back and shoulder pain they have endured for the past decade.

In addition, Mo will be getting married to their partner of seven years at the end of 2025. Now with surgery and a wedding on the horizon, only the cost of the procedure remains.

While this is a very exciting endeavor, it is also quite expensive. Healthcare costs continue to increase as trans people simply seek to feel at ease. Mo will need to pay the surgeon in full on January 8, 2025, and will need to pay for the facility and anesthesia fees after surgery. On top of all that, they need in transport out of state to see a qualified doctor and will miss at least two weeks of work to recover. All of these pieces add up and create stress in a time that should be full of joy. For that, we are reaching out and asking you to donate so Mo will be able to lean into this transformative time with less financial stress.

Mo is a generous and caring member of our community. Joy and laughter come easily when you're in their presence. Mo's day job is in the environmental nonprofit sector, helping to conserve land. On weekends, you may find them hosting backyard thrift pop-ups with size inclusive and gender expansive pieces, and donating the profits while keeping thrifting cheap! And, on any given day, if you need someone to talk to and a cup of coffee served just the way you like it, Mo is there. They are always giving to others. And now they can practice receiving care from their community as they embark on this journey towards embodiment.
