Support Moriya Boyle’s Brain Tumour Surgery Recovery

Hi my name is Jamie and I’m helping organize this fundraiser for my daughter Moriya. For the last 3-4 years Moriya has been having chronic headaches and other symptoms. After numerous doctors and specialists over the years on August 26th, 2025 on her MRI it was diagnosed that she has a brain tumour (glioma) and other issues going on as a direct result of this growth on her brain. Needless to say this news was devastating for a young 20 year old to hear as well as her parents, family and friends.. No young woman at this age should ever be going through something like this..

Since the end of August she’s been going to countless doctors and specialists as well as many more tests. On October 5th she had another MRI scan done with contrast and this brain tumour (glioma), a hyperintense lesion, is centered in left anterior temporal lobe with associated cortical expansion, also extending along the insular cortex. This glioma is sitting on her brain and growing into it. This has caused her to have many symptoms and issues dealing with balance, vision, migraines and other neurological issues.

As a result of the diagnosed brain tumour Moriya has been told she needs to drop out of the University of Ottawa where she was currently attending as it was causing her difficulty and that surgery would be required. Moriya ended up only attending 1-2 weeks this semester until the doctors informed her of the news. This devastated her as well as the news and issues she’s been dealing with. Moriya has not been able to to work either now due to her ongoing health issues.

On October 28th, 2025 Moriya went for open brain surgery which lasted about 8-10 hours. Dr. Sinclair was the one performing the surgery which he’s one of the best in the field we’ve been told. The tumour has been removed but they weren’t able to get all of it. Now she’ll be in Neuroscience Acute Care Unit for the next 5-8 days for observation .. In the next 72 hours she’ll be going for another MRI. Moriya is in a lot of pain, exhausted but she spoke a little bit.. The recovery period could be 6 months or more with ongoing regular checkups and testing.. The biggest part is done for now but it’s far from over as her recovery and treatments will be a long time.

As a result of this news it as created financial stress being unable to work as well as the extra costs of appointments for medical treatment.. Moriya will need help at her apartment in Ottawa for the forceable future. Any donation will help or a simple share would be greatly appreciated as Moriya goes through one of the most challenging things in her life. No young 20 year old woman should ever have to go through this at her age. I as well as her mother would like to thank each and everyone of you in advance for any donation. Right now her brain needs to heal and financial stress and any anxiety is not good for her. We would like to also thank you all for your thoughts and prayers from family and friends that knew what was going on. We appreciate all the support that people have showed and given to Moriya during this difficult time. We would like to also thank everyone that helped support Cheyenne financially to get to Ottawa to be with Moriya for the next few weeks, we are so thankful for your love. It does not go unrecognized. Thank you again and more updates will follow.

This is also Brain Tumour Awareness Month; we ask you to please help support Moriya during this difficult time. Every little bit helps to keep her afloat financially. A simple share helps too. Thank you ❤️
