I’m raising funds to help cover medical expenses and travel from Skagway to Juneau for important cancer prevention treatment. Recently, I learned I have abnormal cells in my breast that need to be closely monitored and possibly removed. The process requires me to travel out of Skagway, which can take several days each trip and means missing work as a self-employed dog walker. Without sick leave, every day away is a significant loss of income, making it difficult to keep up with everyday bills and responsibilities.

In addition to medical costs, I need help with travel expenses, lodging, and meals while I’m in Juneau for appointments. These trips are essential for my health, but the uncertainty around how often I’ll need to go adds to the challenge. I’ve been caring for dogs in Skagway year-round for nine years, providing one of the few local services not solely tied to tourism. My work is a big part of the community, and I share my experiences online with a supportive group of followers who appreciate the positivity I bring to my job.
