Hi, my name is Morgan and I have been battling ovarian cancer since January 2024. I have had three surgeries in a year and a half and unfortunately there will need to be more.

I had a 10 pound uterine tumor removed/hysterectomy in March of 2023 and thought that would be all that I would need to have done. Fast forward to January 2024 and I went in to see my doctor because of pain I was having in my ovaries. It was confirmed that I had several masses on my right ovary. Her suggestion was 8 rounds of chemo and then surgery. I completed my eight rounds of chemo and had surgery in March of 2024 to remove my right ovary. At the time of that surgery. My left ovary was clear so the decision was to leave in and not throw my body into menopause.

Well, at my 2 week surgery follow up, I had masses growing on my left ovary. We watched them continue to grow and the decision was made to have another surgery to remove my left and final ovary. That ovary was scheduled to be removed August 2nd. I went into that surgery very hopeful but came out feeling more defeated than I ever had. They were unable to remove my whole ovary. The tumor ruptured, leaked into my abdominal cavity and was fused to my bowel and not able to all be removed. I have a remnant of my left ovary left which still contains cancer. I am now at Stage 1c Ovarian Cancer. I started an intense course of chemotherapy August 30th and it has wiped any energy I had out. This will run approximately 10 weeks with treatment every Friday. What it is looking like right now is that if the chemo doesn’t work, there will be talk of removing a portion of my bowel that has the tumor fused to it. That could possibly require an ostomy bag.

I received a bill from the hospital that is a little over $57,000.00. Not to mention chemo, medications, missing work, and appointments to just keep me comfortable. My insurance starts over September 1st and I have already started to pay towards a new deductible.

I am asking for prayers of peace and healings I am also praying for a miracle over finances to be able to pay all my medical bills.

I will be cutting my hair short this week as I prepare to lose it with this set of chemo.

Thank you to everybody who has checked on me, sent gifts, food, and just talked to me about stuff other than cancer.

I love each of you very much. Don’t let a moment pass without telling those close to you that you love them!

XOXO,
Morgan
