Morgan Rochon is a RN at Providence Sacred Heart. She has dedicated years to helping others and has been witnessed as an incredible nurse by many of her patients and peers. A few years back, Morgan was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She had to take medical leave to take care of herself and recently came back to work full-time a few months ago.
However, a few weeks ago, Morgan reached out with concerns of a rapid heart rate and difficulty catching her breath while at rest. After going to the ED, she was found to be in heart failure with pulmonary edema and effusions. Turns out her cancer infusion medication she receives once a week was putting her into heart failure, more than she already was. The infusion medication had to be stopped to let her heart recover. Due to the exacerbations, she has had to take another medical leave as the physical stresses of the job were too much.
After a few weeks being off of the medication, Morgan recently discovered she now has 10 new lesions on her liver and also on her spine. Her medical leave, for some reason, is only covering her for 17 hours worth of work a week, which is simply not enough for her to live on. Morgan lives alone, has a mortgage, animals to care for, and the constant medical bills continue to pile up.
I've started this Go Fund Me to not only share Morgan's story for those of you who don't know, but to also see if we can come together to raise any funds to help Morgan and give back to this amazing nurse who has put so much into taking care of others while fighting her own battles.
Any contribution would be more than appreciated ❤️
