Support Morenike Smith's Urgent Medical Needs

Our dear friend Morenike Smith needs our support. She’s a hard-working woman, juggling two jobs to make ends meet, but after a recent pay cut to just 60% while on FMLA and short-term disability, her financial situation has become overwhelming.
It all began with bilateral wrist surgery, but soon after, Morenike’s health took a severe turn. She developed constant pain, weakness, and numbness from her lower back down to her legs and feet—leaving her dependent on a rollator just to move safely.
A recent trip to the ER at VCU in Richmond revealed the seriousness of her condition: 3 out of 6 thoracic spine discs are bulging, calcified, and pressing on her spinal cord and nerves—cutting off spinal fluid and causing lasting damage. A CT scan confirmed the diagnosis, and doctors have scheduled urgent spinal surgery for October 11th at VCU.
This surgery is critical to stop further damage, including the risk of paralysis. While it may not fully reverse her symptoms, it’s the only option to preserve her mobility and protect her future.
Morenike is facing a long recovery with an unknown return-to-work date. On top of this, she has already received a medical bill of over $20,000 after insurance—all while struggling to cover her basic monthly expenses.
✨ This is where we come in. ✨
Let’s come together to ease the financial burden and show Morenike she is not alone on this journey. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps her focus on what matters most—healing and recovery.
