Support Moray to go through challenging times

Moray Campbell is a Hi-Fi cable manufacturer - he custom produces high fidelity cables for years with sales internationally, and he lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I met Moray when I first started my audio business - Grant Fidelity,  in 2006. He is hugely knowledgeable about high fidelity audio. Over the years he has always been managing his boutique audio cable business in a small scale, i.e. a one man show for all tasks involved.

What is special about Moray?

He became my personal friend during and after my late partner Ian Grant's lung cancer journey in 2012-2014. He was a generous support to me when I was overwhelmed by managing a full scale audio business on my own and care-taking for terminally ill Ian at the same time. I still remember the last day of Ian's life, when Moray rode his bicycle through downtown Calgary to the hospice after midnight, upon my calling him about Ian's passing away. He was a huge shoulder for me when I needed one to lean on the most. He has a kind, gentle and big heart to give love and care to others.

What are the challenges for Moray now? Moray has been coping with mental health challenge for years. In July 2020, Moray unexpectedly suffered from a stroke and was admitted to hospital for two weeks. He was again admitted to hospital yesterday Aug 8th, likely due to combination of tremendous anxiety and adjustment of medication. After he was admitted to hospital yesterday, he was further taken into the Covid-19 care unit for suspecting contracted Covid virus.

I can see that, all of these health complications, on top of financial challenges due to unable to operate his cable business and generate much needed income, are simply too much for Moray to bear by himself right now.

Myself as an industry member, and a personal friend of Moray, would like to initiate this fund raising to hopefully give Moray some ease of mind for the coming six months, while he very very much needs to focus on his stroke recovery, and not to be burdened with bills piling up.

Covid has brought everyone more challenges than we have expected. Business and employment everywhere are both suffering. But I hope we collectively as Hi-Fi hobbyists and industry members, can help each other as a community, and NOT let anyone fall behind during this very difficult time - right now, particularly not let Moray fall behind.

I appreciate any member's support, kindness and generosity. Your love and care are deeply appreciated.

Stay well and safe to everyone.

Best regards,
Rachel @ Grant Fidelity

p.s. sorry no pictures of Moray now as I cannot access Covid-19 care unit in the hospital... visits are limited to immediate family members only.
