Support Moose's Road to Recovery

Moose is our 9-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who loves nothing more than to run, chase, and play with his friends. He was a perfectly healthy boy until he suddenly fell ill in November 2023. We went from hospital to hospital to try and figure out what was causing his infection and fever. Despite feeling sick, Moose stayed strong and was brave through every hospital visit. On Christmas Day, things took a turn for the worse when Moose suddenly became paralyzed in his hind legs. He spent the entirety of Christmas and New Years in the ER, where he was evaluated by a neurologist who revealed that he was fighting some type of meningitis in the form of SRMA (Steroid Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis) or GME (Granulomatous Meningoencephalomyelitis). Both diseases are autoimmune diseases that cause his own immune system to start attacking his central nervous system.

We have done everything in our power and resources to get him to this point and he has reciprocated our efforts by staying strong through multiple nights in the hospital, spinal taps, and enduring painful injections. We were able to get him into the care of UC Davis Veterinary Hospital and the doctors are hopeful that we can get to the bottom of the cause and come up with a treatment plan. Moose will have to be treated and monitored closely throughout this aggressive treatment process and we want to be able to provide him with all the care and treatment that he needs so that he can go back to enjoying his life.

We truly don’t want our finances to be the deciding factor for us to say goodbye to our baby boy when he has done everything in his power to fight to get to this point.
