For those who don’t know, this is Moose, my 11-week-old Border Collie. Friday morning around 10, while we were outside doing chores, the neighbor's dog came over and knocked Moose over, then tried dragging him across our driveway. I had to hit the dog on the head with the wooden part of my shovel to get it to go away. I picked up Moose and realized something was wrong with his leg, so I immediately called my vet, made an appointment, and waited. While waiting, I knocked on a couple of the neighbors' doors with no answer, so I called and filed a report about what happened.
Fast forward to Moose’s vet appointment. We got a couple of x-rays, and he has a fracture right below his shoulder all the way to his elbow joint. Surgery is off the table at this point, and his leg needs to be amputated. I’m feeling every emotion that’s even possible right now. They gave me the weekend to make the choice, but it’s almost $3K for amputation, and I can’t afford that on my own, so I’m asking for anyone that is able to help if you’d be willing to donate. (I do plan to take my neighbors to small claims court and get them for what I can).
