‼️‼️Hello Everyone, Meet Moo‼️‼️
911 Pet Vet, a veterinary clinic in Orange City, Florida was contacted after hours the evening of May 26, 2025 about a dog who was found by a good samaritan on the side of the road.
The unnamed dog, later to be called "Moo" was received by Dr. Harty and her staff." Although Moo had been beaten, and had a 6cm X 4cm wound on the left side of his chest, he was surprisingly bright and alert, and exhibited a sweet personality. No microchip was detected. Radiographs were then taken of the chest. There were no fractured ribs or evidence of subcutaneous emphysema. Two days later surgical exploration and closure of the chest wound was performed. The wound was actually even larger than it had appeared and deeper. It was discovered that the underlying wound extended beyond the exterior perimeter. A 4cm penetrating chest wound was discovered dorsal to the wound. It was amazing that Moo had not suffered a pneumothorax at the time of injury. Surgery was continued and the defect closed. Over the next 3 weeks, Moo had an uncomplicated and relatively speedy recovery.
While at 911 Pet Vet he was vaccinated and treated for hookworms and roundworms. He tested negative test for heartworm infection.
Moo remained at 911 Pet Vet for 3-4 weeks. He behaved well, including his interaction with people, other dogs and cats. After his chest had healed, he was neutered.
Moo is now ready for his second chance and looking for his forever home. Yesterday, June 20th, Polk County Bully Project stepped up and has decided to take Moo into their care and is dedicated to finding a loving forever family for him.❤️
To help Moo get placed faster through the rescue I personally sponsored the adoption fee of $150.00 and Dr. Harty covered the cost of his boarding (food, bed, toys, water, and care), medical expenses (emergency chest surgery, IV fluids, medication, other surgical supplies, his neuter, chip, vaccinations, and multiple nights of care). I have decided to create this GoFundMe to not only bring attention to Moo and the other animals 911 Pet Vet encounters that have no owners but to also help cover the cost of all of Moo's care so we can continue to help those that need us most. Their stories and needs will be posted on an as needed basis.
I am happy to answer any questions you all have about Moo and his journey. If you cannot contribute monetarily, please share this post and advocate for the humane treatment of animals in your community.
Lastly, we just wanted to thank all those who have monitarilly contributed, shared our story or helped us along the way. We could not do it without all of your support!
