Moon and her siblings were rescued as very young kittens, and taken to a local animal shelter where Moon later underwent a very lengthy treatment process for Histoplasmosis.

Though, upon her recovery, she began to demonstrate neurological symptoms including complete loss of her mobility. Moon went through a very vast, lengthy, and expensive process to eventually obtain her (dry, neurological) FIP diagnosis.

FIP treatment has saved Moon’s life and given her hope for a future. After months of daily injections to treat her FIP, Moon finally began to regain her ability to stand, walk, and experience life as a kitten again.

However, after about 1 month of regaining her mobility, Moon has now experienced a hip dislocation which will require surgical intervention.

We are still awaiting a formal quote regarding the cost of this surgery but the vet has roughly estimated the cost to be in the thousands. This would not include additional cost of necessary medications, follow-up appointments, or any additional necessities beyond the surgery.

Unfortunately, I have already exhausted myself financially throughout our FIP Journey. It has become evident that I must ask for help and rely on community support to provide Moon the chance to access necessary treatment and care. Moon and many who love her, including myself, are truly appreciative of any assistance that can be offered. We also hope that in the future we can pay it forward to others in need.
