Support Montrell's Stroke Recovery Journey

On June 5th, early in the morning, my nurse came in to check my vitals to release us to go home with our healthy 8-pound baby girl. As Montrell was trying to get up, he suddenly said he couldn't feel his right side. I initially thought it was just from sleeping, but when he asked the nurse to check on him, she delivered the devastating news: "He's having a stroke"
From that day, our lives have been turned upside down as we've navigated an emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial roller coaster. After two weeks in the ICU, the doctor told me that each patient recovers differently. All I wanted when Montrell woke up was for him to remember who I was, and thankfully, he did; however, his right side was paralyzed, and his speech was affected.
Montrell was then transferred to Encompass Rehab, where he underwent physical and speech therapy to help him adapt to his new way of life. It's been an emotional journey filled with tears and questions, but he's made significant progress. He's regained some independence, able to shower, dress, and make meals on his own, using a wheelchair and cane for mobility.
The reason I'm sharing this with you is that we've discovered a promising stroke treatment that could provide Montrell with greater independence and alleviate his daily struggles with numbness, sharp pains, and nerve discomfort - especially during cold weather, when it feels like he's "being weighed down by cement." This treatment, however, requires out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by insurance.
No one ever expects a life-altering condition like this to happen to them, but when it does, the impact can be devastating. My family has weathered this storm with tears, hope, and prayer. While I've been hesitant to ask for help, I'm now swallowing my pride, stepping out in faith and reaching out to our community, as I believe this treatment could make a significant difference in Montrell's recovery and quality of life.
Any amount you can contribute would be deeply appreciated and put to good use. Together, I believe we can provide Montrell the support he needs during this challenging time.
