Hi, I’m Montel Murray and I’m raising funds to get my life back on track. I was working long hours and falling asleep at the wheel. I was pulled over by the sheriff’s and arrested for DUI, although I offered to take a breath test, but they don’t do them in Tennessee. I had a prior
DUI in 2016, so in order to avoid mandatory jail time of 45 days, I accepted a plea deal. As a part of the deal, my license was restricted and that led to me losing my job as a car salesman, in addition to being kicked off of Uber, DoorDash, and Instacart.
I took on a job to make money in general, but $19 an hour was simply not enough to cover my bills and pay the restitution to the state of Tennessee. I have since maxed out my credit cards, became homeless, and now live in my car. To make things worse, my engine light is on and the dealership says they need to keep it for a few days. My goal is to pay my restitution, pay down my credit cards, get my car fixed, and move the hell out of Tennessee.
