Hello friends! Monster, our one-year old kitty, has just been diagnosed with stomatitis.
Our senior baby, Winston, has terminal cancer; oral squamous cell carcinoma. Recent studies show a link between long-term, untreated stomatitis and squamous cell carcinoma. He was a stray for most of his life, and by the time we found him, he likely already had it.
We absolutely refuse to let this happen to another one of our babies, and will do whatever it takes to fix it.
Monster will need her back molars removed, which will probably run us ~$2500. As you can imagine, we are having a hard enough time financially as it is. We truly hate to ask for more than what has already been given to us, but we don’t know what else to do.
We are completely maxed out on loans and I’m picking up shifts at work whenever I can. My girlfriend has been denied jobs over and over again because she is a trans woman, and we live in Tennessee.
We are desperate. Monster doesn’t deserve to be in pain, and we will not let these teeth sit in her mouth for longer than they need to.
We are asking for $2,000 to cover the surgery itself, dental xrays, medications during and after, and any other medical care that she might need pertaining to her stomatitis.
We found Monster and her sister, Mavis, next to a busy road in a bad part of town all alone. They were 12 weeks old max and feral. We managed to catch them in catch-and-release traps, and the rest is history.
We originally were just going to foster them, but we couldn’t find anyone willing to take 2 feral kittens, and we refused to separate them. So we just ended up keeping them, which of course we don’t regret! We adore them and they are such lights in our life.
These girls had a rough start, but we are dedicated to making sure that they are in tip-top-shape health-wise.
Thank you all so much!
