On Friday March 28th around 12:30 pm, my fellow Realtor at the Jim Allen Group, Pedro Monroig and his parents suffered tremendous property loss when their home caught fire on the second floor. Additional damage was done due to water needed to put out the fire. Pedro’s father had 2nd degree burns but everyone else is ok. They lost furniture, clothes, and many family items that can’t be replaced. The home is in Youngsville off Hwy 96 in the Brookshire neighborhood. It would mean a lot to them if you could make a donation to help them pay for immediate needs. My original goal was $5,000, but we hit that goal in less than a week so I raised it to $10,000 because I knew how the cost will be much more and insurance never covers everything. As of Sunday April 7th we have raise almost $11,000. People in the Realtor community, my former clients, friends and total strangers have stepped up and Pedro and his family are so very thankful. Even though we have passed our goal of $10,000 additional donations would be appreciated but if you don't choose to or can’t then please still say a prayer for Pedro and his parents. It father did receive 2nd degree burns on his face but he will recover.
