As family, we decided to make this go fund me page for Monique Couto. As she has disclosed on her Facebook post (below) she has suffered a tragic accident while in Portugal resulting in a fractured back that required surgery. She is struggling to recover enough to be able to fly home, and could use not only prayers but also financial assistance. Currently, she is laying in the hospital unable to move without assistance and it is unknown when she will be able to return to work. Please read her post below. Any donation would help cover the cost of her ongoing medical bills, her flight home, and to cover the costs of living while she is out of work.

These are the last photos I have of traveling this beautiful island- my world came crashing down 10 minutes after these photos were taken. Our ATV hit a bump and I was thrown in the air breaking my back. I had surgery on Sunday morning with 6 pins and a metal plate. Unable to go back home on Monday. With Doug by my side every step of the way.. I am praying I can get on a plane on Friday to come

Back home. It doesn’t look so promising as I am still in excruciating pain. My spirits are down and I am just asking all of you to keep me in your prayers. This has not been an easy road.. luckily Doug was able to keep the hotel room and everyone he has run into has been super nice helping him navigate this mess.

I need to get home. I need all the prayers I can get.
