Dear Friends and Community,
One of my students, a resilient and courageous young woman, is battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult journey for her, and one of the hardest parts has been losing her hair. For any teenager, especially a high school senior looking forward to milestones like prom and graduation, this loss is more than just physical—it’s emotional, deeply personal, and a constant reminder of the battle she’s fighting.
High-quality wigs are expensive—ranging from $900 for synthetic hair to over $2,400 for real hair—far beyond what her family can afford during this challenging time. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
With your generosity, we can provide her with a wig that will help restore not just her hair, but also her confidence, dignity, and sense of normalcy as she navigates this journey. Every dollar counts, and any contribution, big or small, will make a difference in helping her feel like herself again.
To respect her privacy, I won’t be sharing her name, but please know that your kindness will mean the world to a young girl who deserves to feel confident and happy. Thank you for your support, your generosity, and for helping us give her a moment of joy in a difficult time.
With gratitude,
Monika Poddana
