Help My Sister and Her Kids Through a Medical Emergency

Hi friends, family, coworkers and compassionate supporters.

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but my sister is currently in the ICU fighting a serious case of pneumonia. She is currently on a ventilator and facing several weeks to several months in facility care. Unfortunately, she is the sole provider as the father of her children suffered multiple strokes and left him incapacitated and in a living facility, a few years back.

She’s one of the strongest people I know — a devoted mother, a hard worker, and someone who is always there for others. Right now, she needs us to be there for her.

While she focuses on healing, we’re trying to manage everything else — the growing medical bills, her regular household expenses, and most importantly, making sure her two kids are cared for and feel safe during this incredibly scary time.

I’m raising funds to help cover:

• Her medical expenses during and after her ICU stay

• Rent, utilities, and basic needs while she’s unable to work

• Childcare and support for her two children

My sister lives paycheck to paycheck like most people do these days. There is no savings, no rent, grocery or emergency fund. The donations received will pay bills while she out for possibly the next 6 months. For every one day she was on the ventilator/ stays on the ECMO machine requires 6 days of rehabilitation in a short/long term facility.
