My name is Paula, and I am Monica and Jacob's aunt. On November 24, Monica was found unresponsive and having seizures. She was intubated for almost 2 weeks in the ICU with sepsis and multiple seizures that affected the left side of her brain. She spent a 3rd week in a step-down unit with multiple concerns with vocal cord damage, cognitive impairment (she can't remember who we are, the year, anything in the past) and a decrease in physical movement. Monica is only 27 years old.

Monica was transferred to another hospital with inpatient rehabilitation and is still there. She is weak and depends on us to help her with daily care.

In the meantime, Jacob drives back and forth over 60 miles, and his car broke down. He is not able to work right now because he helps with her care. We are in need of repairing the car he drives back and forth.

They are in need of car repairs, gas money, food, and long term needs to care for her when she is discharged. We are not sure the outcome of this situation, but prayers are requested.
