Support Monica's Fight for Alfassa's Health
UPDATE: Alfassa's condition worsened and after a couple of painful days, Alfassa has passed away due to heart issues. Monica is heartbroken, and in debt, and still could use all the help she could get. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far.
Monica and Alfassa were finally reunited in Eugene, after countless circumstances (including her home burning down in a wild fire) made her unable to house him. She worked hard for years with him in mind, determined to secure a home for him, and was able to do so in 2023. This has been a complete game changer, and they have been so happy in their little two bedroom house with a fenced in yard that Monica has worked so hard to procure for them. Alfassa has been comfortable and ecstatic to live with his mom, his basket of toys and everything he could ask for. Anyone who knows the two of them has never seen them as comfortable and happy as they are now.
On April 25th, Alfassa’s health started to decline. His bowels were bloody and he started to show signs of gastrointestinal hemorrhaging. He began to seize and Monica rushed him to the vet. After hours of care, fluids and blood work he is thankfully in a stable place, but the journey is far from over. Monica will have to invest time and money into testing in the next few months, as well as pay off the vet costs accumulated during Fassa’s overnight stay. She has had to miss work to make sure he is okay. All she wants is for her baby to be healthy and happy, at home. The total of vet costs could be devastating to the two of them, so we are asking the community to come forward and help. Alfassa and Monica have been through so much just to be together, and could use all the help you can offer right now. A medical emergency should not be a reason for such a sweet duo to lose everything they have worked for.
