Since the age of 14, I battled Stage 4 osteosarcoma which is an aggressive form of bone cancer. The doctors gave a 10% chance of survival yet I maintained my faith facing the challenges ahead with remarkable strength and determination. During the process I overcame mini brain-strokes as I completed 11 rounds of chemotherapy including major surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct my leg. The reality of this disease is that it tries to take everything from those affected- health, peace, hope, resources.

Although I am a cancer survivor, the long-term effects and subsequent complications have resulted in a chronic condition affecting my immune system and my leg. Throughout the years, I’ve undergone countless major surgeries and procedures. The moment I’ve thought of giving up I think of my family and now my two boys waiting at home for me, Javier who is 5 and Julian whom is 11 months old. Most recently, following a high-risk pregnancy where I was hospitalized since I was 6 weeks pregnant in 2025 and a subsequent leg fracture, I have undergone various major surgeries, including total replacements of my knee, femur, and hip after 3 weeks of giving birth to my handsome baby boy.

Unfortunately, my recovery has been hindered by recurring infections and multiple dislocations due to all of the damage that has been done from ongoing surgeries inside of the leg including the muscles, nerves and tissues, each requiring me to restart the rehabilitation process from scratch. I have been hospitalized in Miami for the past three weeks due to severe swelling and fever due to infection and I continue to struggle with these ongoing health issues.

These medical challenges have affected the family I built significantly personally and brought financial hardship. The father of my children, my partner was deported on June due to entering illegally into this country leaving me as the primary provider for our two young children. While I am determined to support my family now as a single mom , my health has made it impossible to maintain employment, and our household bills continue to accumulate while my parents assist in caring for my children.

I am sharing my story of struggle, resilience and faith not only in hopes that it will inspire someone to keep going, but with a heavy heart thanking any donation, no matter the amount. Muy recientemente —tras un embarazo de alto riesgo que me mantuvo hospitalizada desde la sexta semana de gestación en 2025, seguido de una fractura de pierna— me he sometido a varias cirugías mayores, incluyendo el reemplazo total de rodilla, fémur y cadera, tan solo tres semanas después de dar a luz a mi hermoso bebé. Lamentablemente, mi recuperación se ha visto obstaculizada por infecciones recurrentes y múltiples luxaciones, consecuencia de los daños acumulados por las continuas intervenciones quirúrgicas en el interior de la pierna —afectando músculos, nervios y tejidos—; cada una de estas complicaciones me ha obligado a reiniciar el proceso de rehabilitación desde cero. Llevo las últimas tres semanas hospitalizada en Miami debido a una inflamación severa y fiebre provocadas por una infección, y continúo luchando contra estos persistentes problemas de salud.

Estos desafíos médicos han afectado significativamente, en el plano personal, a la familia que he construido, y nos han acarreado dificultades económicas. El padre de mis hijos —mi pareja— fue deportado en junio por haber ingresado ilegalmente a este país, dejándome a mí como la principal proveedora de nuestros dos hijos pequeños. Si bien estoy decidida a mantener a mi familia, mi estado de salud me ha imposibilitado conservar un empleo; mientras tanto ahora como mamá soltera, las facturas del hogar continúan acumulándose, al tiempo que mis padres me ayudan con el cuidado de mis hijos. Comparto mi historia de lucha, resiliencia y fe, no solo con la esperanza de que inspire a alguien a seguir adelante, sino también con gran pesar , agradeciendo de antemano cualquier donación, sin importar el número.
