Monica is always the first person to step up, organize help, or lend a hand to anyone in need. She is the glue of the family, a beloved member of the community, and to her nieces and nephews, she is a strong, funny aunt who never lets someone go without. Monica has spent her life giving to others, making sure everyone around her feels cared for and supported.

Now, the person who is always taking care of everyone else urgently needs others to take care of her. Recently, Monica received alarming medical news: doctors found high-risk lumps in her breast that will turn into cancer if not removed immediately. To stop cancer in its tracks before it can take hold, she needs urgent surgery scheduled for August 10th, 2026. Monica was given very little time to prepare financially or emotionally, and her family is rallying around her so she can focus entirely on her health and healing. Because of the extensive nature of this surgery and recovery, Monica cannot return to work for 3 to 6 months, leaving the household without income.
