My name is Stephanie Buchanan Ewers. I was born and raised in Knoxville. I have 5 siblings, 4 sisters and a brother, most of whom also reside in Knoxville. My sister, Monica Buchanan DeVore (Knoxville), was recently diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. She had a major surgery that requires daily care and medical supplies. Additionally, she is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. She has not worked since January, when a trip to the ER discovered the cancer. After her chemo treatments are complete, she’ll know if another surgery will be required. It is unknown when she can return to work. Her diagnosis has been a catastrophic life-changing event, one few are prepared for financially, emotionally, and physically. As a two-time cancer survivor myself, I can personally relate. On behalf of myself and my family, we are asking for support to help ease the heavy financial burden she is facing. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
