My name is Bukiwa, and my cousin Mongali passed away recently in East Moline, Illinois, on November 11, 2024. The loss was shocking, devastating, and so sudden.

Mongali was a 19-year-old refugee from Tanzania. He arrived in the United States of America in March of 2023. Mongali previously lived in Chicago before moving to East Moline a few months ago. He was born into a large family; he had five sisters and one older brother. Mongali himself was married and also had a daughter named Leah, who will be turning three years old soon. Mongali was a hard worker who had just recently gotten a new job at XPAC in production. He was a very helpful family member. Mongali did not have much saved, and due to him being young and coming from an impoverished family, he is needing our assistance with covering his funeral expenses. Mongali’s family is seeking donations also for his wife and daughter during this complicated time. Anything helps, including prayers for the family. Let’s ease the burden on this family, thank you.
