Hello everyone,

My name is Delray Scott. I'm the oldest son of Mona Scott. On 1/3/25, my mother, Mona Scott, passed on, leaving behind 3 sons and 2 daughters along with 5 grandchildren.

During her life, she was always an anchor to our family. She touched the hearts of many people working at East Side House Head Start/Daycare. She was well known in the community, known to be a caring and hardworking woman. She was a caretaker for the children in the community. Starting as a volunteer in a classroom, she moved up to running a classroom, then moving into social work. Many of those children have grown up and were still close to her. She was known for her strength and love that she had for all the people she knew and cared for. As a mother, she was the most caring and gentle soul. She loved her children and grandchildren with every fiber of her soul. She always took the time out for family and friends, and we are sad to not have her in our presence anymore. She was especially loved by her grandchildren, and she returned that love to them tenfold. She was an amazing parent and like our best friend.

Her passing was very unexpected and we need help to raise money for her services. We have been looking around for a place to have her services. We initially wanted to have a viewing service and cremation, but we could not afford the bill in such a short time, which brings us here. We are trying to give her a send-off that she deserves, so please help us. We are trying to raise $4,200. Most of the services in our area for viewing and cremation cost around $3,000 to $4,000. We are hoping to raise that amount or at least half for the direct cremation if we cannot reach our goal. Even if you cannot donate, please keep her and her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
