My mom was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and our world has been turned upside down. She and her partner now have to travel from Los Banos, CA to Stanford Medicine Cancer Center in Palo Alto for every round of treatment. Trips are often a two to three hour drive each way with Bay Area traffic, making already long days even harder.
She receives the second part of her treatment through a small pump she carries in a backpack for 48 hours, then has to return to Stanford to have it removed. This means two challenging trips in the same week every 12 days, which is exhausting for both of them.
Our family is helping in every way we can, but my mom and her partner are a bit isolated out in Los Banos. Most of us live an hour or more away in the opposite direction, so they handle most of the travel on their own. I want to make this as easy on them as possible while she focuses on healing.
We are hoping to raise funds to help with:
Travel costs like gas, parking, and meals
Occasional hotel stays so they don’t have to make back to back trips
Pet sitting for their pups so they don’t have to worry about rushing home
Anything you give, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference during this difficult time. It will help take pressure off them and give my mom the chance to focus her energy where it matters most: getting better.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, generosity, and love. It truly means more than words can say.
