SUPPORT MOM'S FIGHT FOR LIFE-SAVING CANCER TREATMENT

My name is Eduardo and I am doing this for my mother, Maria. On 08/23/19, our lives took a dramatic turn when my mom was diagnosed with late-stage II metastatic breast cancer. My mother had been getting scans since 2016 and should have been diagnosed years earlier. Unfortunately, she kept getting dismissed, and it wasn't until a caring doctor did her due diligence and sent my mom for all kinds of testing, which ultimately led to the day that we received the devastating news that no child wants to hear about their loving mother. That day for us was 08/23/19, a day my brother and I WILL NEVER FORGET! The day our world came crashing down and we found out our amazing mother had metastatic breast cancer. The news was beyond devastating for us and for the rest of our family. And since that fateful day, my mom's cancer has progressed to late stage III - early stage IV and her current treatment regimen is NOT working and our mom is in a fight for her life.

My mom is a single mother and she is the ONLY parent that my brother and I have ever known. She has taken care of us our whole lives, and we cannot imagine our life without her. She is the most caring, loving, and selfless person we have ever met. She always puts us first! Even through this battle with cancer, she still puts us first and finds ways to make sure we have everything we need. Now, we want to try and help her so that she can get better and continue life with us.

Over the past 5 years, our mom has gone through so many different treatments and has had over 7 surgeries! Mom is a fighter, and she continues to fight every day. But now, she is running out of treatment options, and her current doctors are not all on the same page, which destroyed our confidence in them and their ability to help our mom. Thus, mom, grandma, my brother, and I decided to get a second opinion from a renowned doctor, Dr. Jorge Martinez, who is located in Miami, Florida. My mom and grandma secured an appointment with Dr. Martinez, and the four of us traveled to Florida on 02/23/25 for an in-person consultation. During the consultation, Dr. Martinez described his treatment approach and stated that he believed he could help my mother beat this cancer. This gave us much hope, but this hope was instantly crushed when we discussed the costs of this treatment option. We could not afford it!

SO, I am here...on this platform...asking....begging for help from everyone, to help my mother get these treatments with Dr. Martinez. The cost of one round of treatment is approximately $13,000 just for the injections and medications. When mom gets the injections, she has to stay at the clinic from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, which she will also be charged for usage of the facility for that timeframe. She will get 15 injections for each round of treatment. Mom will need anywhere between 2 to 6 or more rounds depending on what scans show after each round. Additionally, we would need funds to buy plane tickets for the four of us (mom, grandma, my brother, and me) whenever we have to fly to Florida for her treatments. Once we arrive in Florida, we need money to rent a car, for housing (hotel or Airbnb, whichever is cheaper), and for food while staying in Florida during these treatment sessions because we do not have any family there to help us. So I am again begging the community to come through for our mom. Despite what we are going through, we continue to embrace our faith and strongly believe that our prayers will be answered and that our mom will get better....WITH YOUR HELP!!!!
