Support Mom's Fight for a Liver Transplant
Donation protected
On October 31st this year, I received a call from my sister stating our mom was being abused by her husband. Our mother had recently moved to Georgia with her husband and had been dealing with health issues. My sister and I immediately drove 9 hours to Georgia to pick Mom up, and her health had significantly declined. Her husband was arrested for domestic violence, and it was then she told us she had cirrhosis of the liver. Unaware of how bad it was and unfamiliar with what was next, we got her to my sister's house where she would stay for a few days. After scheduling appointments and getting her to the liver specialist, it was determined she would need a liver transplant or she wouldn't survive.
She goes 2-3 times a month to get multiple liters of fluid drained from her stomach. She constantly battles day to day task like walking up stairs and just finding the strength to cook for herself. She is now currently staying with our grandma until we can find further living accommodations.
My goal for this GoFundMe is to help with medical bills, which are over the thousands mark, but mainly to help with day-to-day living expenses, gas, food, and travel. In 6 months, we will know if she will be approved to have a transplant and then reevaluate. Pennies, nickels, dimes, dollars, whatever will help.
