Dorothy, my mom, is suffering from dementia and Medicaid is failing her. She is stuck in the hospital when she needs to be in a Memory Care facility.
Mom has always been a pillar of strength and kindness in our community. For over 50 years, she dedicated her life to helping families by running her in-home daycare, nurturing and caring for countless children while raising her three daughters. Even after being widowed at the age of 57, Dorothy continued her work, finding healing and purpose in caring for others. Her dedication not only helped her heal but also allowed her to achieve personal milestones, like buying and owning her first car.
Dorothy’s love for gardening, reading, and completing complex puzzles brought her joy and reflected her vibrant spirit. Now, as she faces the challenges of dementia in her elderly years, she needs support for assisted living or companion care to ensure her safety and well-being. The funds raised will help provide Dorothy with the care she deserves, honoring the many years she spent giving to others.
Thank you for reading our mom’s story and making a contribution to help her have better years ahead. We believe that community involvement makes a difference, especially for those who have given so much of themselves to help others in their best years.
