Support Mom's Battle Against Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

Donation protected
In January, we got the news that my mom may have cancer. It was a whirlwind of doctors for two weeks. While sitting in one oncologist's office for a radical hysterectomy pre-op, for presumed cancer, the phone rang. It was the radiologist with the pathology results from breast biopsies. Cancer, at least two, possibly three types of breast cancer confirmed. A radical hysterectomy was scheduled immediately. Then we learned one of the breast cancers is triple-negative breast cancer. This is the last thing you want to hear; the biopsies showed so much damage they won't even be able to get an accurate stage until the surgical pathology after she has a double mastectomy. My 44-year-old mom has had her whole life flipped upside down. She had to stop working and put the new business she was opening on the back burner too. My dad has had to miss work to help care for her, get her to medical appointments, and care for my siblings. I have a little sister who is just 5 years old. My mom always puts everyone else ahead of herself. She is the first to drop what she is doing to help anyone in need but has a hard time asking and accepting help for herself. The medical bills have already started pouring in and her journey is just beginning. She has a double mastectomy coming up and this will limit her so much more, not to mention the surgeries for reconstruction and chemo. Mom has always made sure we had everything we needed, even working two and three jobs on occasion. Since losing my mom's income, the large reduction in my dad's, and adding all the medical expenses, it has put a huge stress on the family. She has always been able to figure it out but this time, she needs to just worry about getting better. She does it all; she takes care of all of us, she is there for my brother and my friends at the drop of a hat as if they were her own kids. When she was diagnosed, she wasn't worried about herself at all; she was worried about us. She worried about how her diagnosis was going to impact those she cares about, not even thinking twice about what she was about to go through. Now she needs help; their income has dropped to next to nothing and the expenses have multiplied exponentially. My mom loves with all she has and helps everyone in our lives. Now, I'm asking for help for her. If you are moved to donate and in a position to, please do. If not, please all I ask is to keep her and our family in your prayers.
