On July 25, 2024, mom was admitted to Blanchard Valley hospital and diagnosed with an aggressive lung cancer that has, unfortunately, spread to her spine. The mass discovered on her spine was compressing the spinal cord and she has lost most movement from the waist down. Thankfully, her surgeon was able to remove most of the mass, but there is still a long battle ahead. Currently, she is unable to stand up or walk, and her insurance is fighting to cover the basic things she needs to come home and get the help she needs. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover costs for a 24 hour nurses, a hospital bed, and a lift chair to help her be able to transfer, as she will continue her chemo treatments and rehab outpatient.
