Support Mommy Ghie's Fight Against Moyamoya

Hi everyone! For those of you that know me, you know I always say I’ve been blessed with two moms. My second mom is my mom’s sister, Mommy Ghie. Mommy Ghie is joyful, outgoing, and hardworking.
In 2009, Mommy Ghie had her first stroke. She was then diagnosed with moyamoya disease, in which the internal carotid arteries in the brain become narrowed or blocked, reducing blood flow and oxygen supply. Because of her diagnosis, she had surgery to prevent her from getting more strokes. We were filled with tremendous gratitude knowing her surgery was successful.
Unfortunately, in 2022, Mommy Ghie had her first stroke since then. Mommy Ghie has never let this disease define her or stop her from being who she is. She is resilient. She is a fighter. But unfortunately, in November of this year, we discovered her moyamoya had progressed even further, causing her to have multiple strokes since. Her first severe stroke in November resulted in speech impairment.
Mommy Ghie has to undergo surgery, but due to the severity of the disease, it’s been a huge challenge. Her doctors do not want to risk her having a stroke during surgery, but the contraindication is she needs to get operated on to reduce her strokes. In the meantime, doctors have been making sure she’s monitoring her blood pressure three times a day. Since then, Mommy Ghie has already had a handful of strokes. Her two most recent strokes left her unresponsive, paralyzed on her right side, and she has not been eating.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, although someone’s health may be in jeopardy, bills and finances do not just vanish. Because of the state she’s in, Mommy Ghie has been out of work, resulting in a huge financial burden. Medical bills, rent, and other living expenses have been a major factor. Of course, as her family, we have been helping as much as we can, but due to having finances of our own, we could only help so much. Our goal is to be able to successfully support Mom Ghie through her surgery and send her to a skilled nursing facility. We are hopeful that with the help of our close friends and family, Mommy Ghie can undergo surgery and only focus on her recovery without the financial stress. My family and I are eternally grateful for all the love and support that we continue to receive for Mommy Ghie. We cannot thank you all enough!
With Love,
