We’ve been dealing with one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to go through. Our sweet girl Momma has been having some pretty severe health issues.

She’s had multiple blood tests done in the past week and we saw pretty concerning changes to her health during this time, so we rushed her to the ER yesterday morning where we sat waiting for eight hours to find answers. They also ran every test to find out what is going on.

Our sweet girl got diagnosed with Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, which is an auto-immune disease where the immune System destroys platelets within the body. It can cause many complications (ie: internal bleeding, bruising, breathing issues, anemia etc)

She was admitted last night because she had zero platelets in her blood smear and needed immediate care. They’re giving her a small dose of chemo to help build her platelets up and also see if she responds to immunosuppressants.

The unknown is gut wrenching. Leaving her in an overnight ER for 48 hours is even worse. She’s getting the best care she can to see if she responds to the treatment. The cost for the first two days was close to $8,000. In order for us to get the best outcome for her, she will possibly have to stay overnight two more days to see if she’s responding well to the treatment. Our insurance is maxed out with just the first few days that she’s been there and we would be heartbroken if we were unable to continue her treatment.

We absolutely know times are tough right now. We sat on this all day because we feel so bad for asking for help, but here we are in the worst situation and don’t know where to turn. We would be forever grateful for anything you can help us with. Thank you so much. Our little fur army appreciates it more than you know.

There’s nothing more we want than for her to get better. We want her to be able to live a happy long life with us and come home. She’s our everything ♥️
