My name is Caity, and I am trying to raise money to aid in my sweet mom's cancer treatment. This has been an incredibly difficult year for my family - in March, my father suffered a seizure and ultimately went into hospice before he passed on April 8. During this time, we spent very little time working and more often than not were sitting at his bedside.

As we started to get our lives back to normal, mom started to not feel well. After multiple tests, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. Within a week of the diagnosis, chemotherapy began to fight the disease. The chemo has already taken a toll on my mom, and she has not been able to return to work. We are told that her symptoms will only worsen, and we still have a long road ahead.

On top of the chemo, mom will also need to undergo a major surgery to attempt to take out as much cancer as possible. With this, she is going to need to take much more time off from work than was ever anticipated. She is a strong woman, and asking for help isn't her strong suit, but we are quickly learning that it takes a village to fight this.

I am hoping to raise some funds not only so that mom does not have to worry about her monthly bills, but for some extra needs we have identified. She has already purchased a bed with an adjustable base to assist with getting out of bed on hard days, and we are looking to get her a recliner chair that will do the same.
