Mollie and Chris Eley and their family were affected by brutal rain and wind that struck down a large tree landing straight down the middle of their home this week, rendering their house unsafe to live in. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but the damage is extensive and the road ahead will be long and most likely costly. Chris built so much of their house himself; it is heart-wrenching to see their Boy Scout Road home in such shambles.
Mollie and Chris have been pillars of the community through their Indianapolis institutions of Goose the Market and Smoking Goose. Showing kindness, generosity, and resilience—feeding friends, supporting local events, and showing up for others time and time again. Now, it is our turn to show up for them.
We all know how slow insurance and repairs can be, and any help to not worry about waiting for claims to be approved would be such a gift and lighten the stress during their rebuild.
Funds raised will go directly toward temporary housing, repairs to their home, and replacing essential belongings lost in the damage. Any contributions, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact.
