Hello, I am Ataf Al-Bitar from the Gaza Strip, and a mother of two daughters. The elder is a high school student (Tawjihi), and the younger is in her first year of secondary school. For more than two and a half years, my daughters—like thousands of students in Gaza—have been deprived of their natural right to education. The educational process has become nearly non-existent, and the few opportunities available are far from enough to prepare students, especially high schoolers who are at a critical juncture that determines their future. My eldest daughter has always dreamed of becoming a doctor, studying and striving tirelessly to achieve this goal. But with the ongoing war, closed borders, and continuous instability, that dream has begun to fade day after day. Meanwhile, the costs of travel and leaving the Strip are completely beyond our reach; we cannot afford even a small fraction of them. In addition, we can no longer bear the harsh realities of displacement inside tents. We suffer daily from scorching heat in the summer, freezing cold in the winter, the spread of rats and insects, and the total lack of basic life necessities—not to mention the rampant spread of infectious diseases. Due to my weak immune system, these conditions pose a real danger to my health, and I live in constant fear of my condition worsening. I also live in constant dread for my daughters' safety. Every time I send them to an educational point, I am paralyzed by the fear that the road or the location itself might be targeted, and that harm will come to them. This constant terror has robbed them not only of an education, but also of the sense of safety that every child deserves. Furthermore, for the past a year and eight months, I have been suffering from an undiagnosed health issue. Doctors have been unable to diagnose my condition due to the severe collapse of the healthcare system under these circumstances. I continue to live with painful and difficult symptoms that impact my daily life, while chances of receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment remain extremely limited. Therefore, I turn to you with hope, appealing to anyone who reads my story to offer whatever support they can, or to share the link to our campaign with others. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to leaving the Strip, enabling my daughters to resume their education and attend university, and giving me a chance to receive the medical treatment I desperately need.
