HELP US RAISE $ TO PROVIDE WHEELCHAIRS FOR CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY IN BLANTYRE, MALAWI
From the team at Step Up:
Imagine being a parent of a child with cerebral palsy, unable to afford a wheelchair, and having to carry your child everywhere—on your back—every single day. This is the daily reality for Annie (16), Julio (17), and John (12). Without mobility aids, they spend most of their time lying down, unable to sit up and interact with the world around them.
At Step Up, we work tirelessly to provide therapy and support for children with disabilities, but mobility remains one of the biggest challenges. We are raising $1,100USD to purchase specialized wheelchairs that will transform these children’s lives.
Why Wheelchairs Matter
These are not just mobility devices—they are lifesaving tools that improve both physical health and overall well-being. An adaptive wheelchair will:
✅ Prevent severe postural deformities by promoting proper spinal alignment.
✅ Reduce the physical burden on their families. ✅ Gain independence and participate in daily activities. ✅ Increase opportunities for education and social interaction ✅ Reduce the risk of pressure sores that come from lying down for long hours. ✅ Enhance digestion by promoting better positioning for feeding. ✅ Provide a sense of dignity and inclusion, enabling children to interact with their peers and engage in school and community activities.
How You Can Help
Your contribution will directly impact these children’s lives by providing them with essential mobility aids. Here’s what your donation will go toward:
· Wheelchair for Annie (16 years old): $345
· Wheelchair for Julio (17 years old): $345
· Wheelchair for John (12 years old): $345
Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to giving these children the mobility and dignity they deserve.
