Support Miyauna’s Recovery

Donation protected
Miyauna, my sweet 13-year-old niece, is now facing a nightmare that we are asking for donations to help her and our family through.

On Saturday, May 10th, she went to Cedar Pointe with her friends. After riding a rollercoaster, she developed a headache so intense she was taken to Urgent Care. A CT scan revealed a large mass on her brain. She was transported for further examination to the main hospital where the mass was diagnosed as the largest brain aneurysm seen in UH history. With multiple vital blood vessels being attached to the aneurysm, she underwent a twenty-hour brain surgery in an attempt to save her life.

While the surgeons were waking her from the surgery, she suffered a stroke. Not only does she have to recover from the brain surgery, but she also has to battle the damage caused by the stroke. She went from being a normal 13-year-old girl enjoying her life to being nonverbal, unable to move, and bedridden. Our hearts are broken seeing her go through such a scary, painful, and traumatic medical event.

She has a long road to recovery and will need extensive therapy and medical attention. Her mother, Ressa, will be her primary caretaker in the 24-hour care that she will need for the unforeseen future. We are asking for donations to cover their normal daily expenses since she will not be able to work.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, because when one parent cries, we all cry.
