Support Mitchell's Recovery and Rehab Journey

Hello, my name is Jeslyn Johnson. I am trying to raise funds for my brother Mitchell Johnson who has under gone spinal surgery to fix his broken neck and pinched spinal cord. He is currently at Froedtert where he will continue to stay to heal and proceed with rehab. Asking for donations to help my brother with all the medical bills that will be coming. On Saturday, June 29th while at our family reunion, Mitch dove into water and ended up hitting the bottom and broke his C1 and his C5 to C6 was not aligned. He was air lifted to Green Bay Aurora Bay Care. He had surgery on Sunday morning which went well. His spinal cord is intact. His surgeon then reached out to a doctor at Froedert and got Mitch into a program here. He was transferred Sunday evening.

As of today, Monday July 1st, he has mobility of his arms and good arm strength. He has tingling in his entire body. They did the "feeling" test and Mitch had feeling in his abdomen and in his right leg above the knee!

He had a repeat MRI which showed a spot so they did a CT. The CT showed that the vertebral artery was injured. This supplies blood to the cerebelum which impacts balance and hand coordination. The cerebelum is injured but time will tell what the impact is as the brain does heal on its own.

We know he is in the best hands possible and remain positive. More importantly Mitchell's spirits are good and he is positive. We all know Mitch and know he is strong and is a fighter.
