"Hi, my name is Carey De Jager and I am a longtime family friend of the Knox family. I have set up this campaign to directly support Mitchell and his parents, Stefan and Karrie-Ann, during this incredibly difficult time. All funds raised will used to cover the expenses detailed below.

On Friday, November 21st, Mitchell Knox was the victim of a malicious assault. Mitchell was rushed to the Brain Trauma Unit at Sunnybrook Hospital where he currently remains in critical condition, and in a coma ever since.

The extent of Mitchell’s injuries is devastating. He has sustained multiple skull fractures and multiple brain bleeds. The immense damage and intense pressure on his brain have forced doctors to place Mitchell on life support and in a medically-induced, deep coma state to give his brain the necessary time to heal and recover.

Doctors have stated that these injuries are life-altering. The life Mitchell knew will fundamentally change. While we don't have a crystal ball to see what his future holds, we know that it will be a long road ahead of him.

Mitchell’s parents, Stefan and Karrie-Ann, have been faithfully by his bedside every single day, making the long daily drive from Campbellford to Toronto. With the recovery process anticipated to take many months, possibly longer, we are now urgently asking for your financial help to ease the burden on the Knox Family.

* Family Travel & Lodging: Covering the high cost of gas, travel, and local hotel stays so his parents can remain close to Mitchell at all times.

* Daily Expenses: Meals and essential living expenses for the family during this time away from home.

* ️ Future Rehabilitation: The anticipated, life-long costs of Mitchell’s intensive physical therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and specialized care that he will require upon leaving the hospital.
