Misty is a fierce, loving, and supportive person. She shows up for her family and friends at their highest and their lowest. We have all seen her work very hard in her life to continue to persevere no matter what odds are against her.
In October 2024, Misty's husband Adam suffered a major heart attack and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. This was a very difficult and challenging time for them, to say the least. Shortly after Adam's release from the hospital, Misty's mother Tammy passed away (January 06, 2025). This brought Misty to her knees. As we all know, she is an incredibly strong person and continued to carry on and keep her head up to make her momma and grandmother proud (she lost her grandmother in 2020).
In May 2025, Misty had to have surgery to have a brain stent placement done. following this surgery Misty had suffered with debilitating migraines.
In October 2025, Misty was starting to have some health complications. Following these complications, there were countless doctor's appointments and emergency room visits.
During all of this Misty has been unable to work due to her and Adam's medical conditions. Disability has been applied for however she has been advised this process is lengthy and can take 6-8 months to go thru.
On January 20, 2026, in the emergency room after several tests, the doctor found a large mass the size of a fist in her colon. The doctor was almost positive it was cancer, sending her home pending an emergency follow-up with additional testing to come. testing took a few days due to the blood thinners she had to come out of her system. (she has to take daily due to the surgery/stent in her brain)
On January 24, 2026, she was admitted for further testing and also to have surgery for a colostomy bag. During this time, it was confirmed as Stage Four cancer that had spread. They had found masses in her colon, liver, breast, lungs, stomach, and bones.
On January 30, 2026, during her surgery, Misty died twice and was able to be revived. In recovery from her surgery, she had a TIA, which is a mini-stroke. She has continued to fight.
January 31, 2026, while recovering from her surgery, Misty's husband Adam passed away. She is utterly heartbroken to her core over the loss of him.
February 1, 2026 Misty still unable to leave the hospital was only able to attend a candlelight vigil for her husband via FaceTime.
Misty was aware that she was going to be in the fight of her life. She just never expected to be doing it without Adam.
