Hi, my name is Misty Blair. I have been married for 18 years. I have 2 boys one is 7 years old and the other is 12 years old. My oldest has autism.

About May 7, 2025 I started having really bad headaches worst ones I have ever had. Then I started having very bad neck pain and left side numbness and tingling down my left side. On May 17, 2025, the doctor did an MRI and found out on the scan that I had an abnormality in the brain. The MRI scan showed I had an 11mm Chiari Malformation. They admitted me to the hospital for 2 days. They took me off work and had me do this and that. May 28 to June 1, 2025 my dr admitted me back in the hospital. I had a very bad infection and my face and neck was swollen. I’m still unable to get back to work due to my restrictions. I have been a housekeeper for awhile but this past February I became a Cna.

Saw neurosurgeon on July 10, 2025. He order for new mri scans of brain and cervical spine which is schedule for July 30. Also have an EMG test schedule for July 29. He also did a referral for a fundus exam eye. He wants to see me again in Aug to go over more test results and talk more into detail about surgery. They are thinking surgery which would be called posterior fossa decompression. This involves removing a small section of bone at the back of the skull to create more space for the cerebellum and relieve pressure on the brainstem and spinal cord. I’m very terrified about having surgery on the back of my head. This would make me be off longer and with me being off work, our household went from 2 incomes to 1. I provide most of the income and it’s very hard right now. My husband has been keeping us afloat as much as possible. I have a lot of dr appointments.
