Support Misty Belch's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
• My best friend, Misty Belch, has always been the first to help others. From assisting neighbors after a house fire to brightening her community with vibrant flowers (earning her the nickname "Plant Lady"), Misty's generosity knows no bounds. Now, she needs our help.
In June, Misty suffered a devastating fall at work, resulting in severe injuries to the right side of her body, a concussion (now post-concussion syndrome), and excruciating occipital neuralgia. Despite clear surveillance footage of the incident, her employer's insurance company shockingly denied her worker's compensation claim, even falsely claiming to her doctors that the fall didn't happen at work. This has severely hindered her ability to get the critical medical care she needs.
Misty's injuries are extensive: bulging discs in her neck, significant soft tissue swelling affecting her vocal cords (leaving her barely able to speak before her voice becomes too hoarse to be heard), debilitating pain that makes basic movements like smiling, chewing and speaking excruciating and many more. In December, she experienced stroke-like symptoms and was rushed to the ER, later diagnosed with a complex migraine triggered by the intense pain. MRI images led to Misty receiving a nerve-burning procedure in her head (which will need to be repeated every six months) and a scheduled CT angiogram to determine if bulging on an internal carotid artery will require surgery. She also now has a list of specialists to see.
Unable to work for months, Misty faces mounting medical bills and living expenses. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used to:
Pay for mounting medical expenses for ongoing doctor's appointments, imaging and surgeries
Fund speech therapy, physical therapy and rehabilitation psychology therapy to aid her recovery
Cover essential living expenses (rent, utilities, etc.)
Eventually facilitate a move closer to her son and family, who can provide crucial support during her recovery.
Misty has dedicated her life to helping others. Now it's our turn to help her. Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in her recovery journey. Please donate and share this campaign to help us support our dear friend in her time of need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
